This four stage reverse osmosis system consists of a stage 1 five micron Sediment filter that traps particulate matter like dirt, rust, and silt that will affect the taste and appearance of your water. Stage 2 is a five micron Carbon Block filter that helps ensure a greater reduction of chlorine and other materials that cause bad taste and odors (these are called PRE-filters because they filter in front of the reverse osmosis membrane). Stage 3 is the heart of the reverse osmosis system, the RO Membrane. This 50 gallon per day semi permeable membrane will effectively reduce TDS (total dissolved solids), Sodium and a wide range of contaminants such as Lead, Arsenic, Percolate, Chromium, Copper and Radium. It will also remove over 99.95% cysts such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. The larger production membrane of this state of the art system also means this system has been designed to reduce Nitrates and Nitrites from your drinking water. It is important that this system is properly installed and maintained with a minimum incoming water pressure of 40 psi for it to operate as designed. Stage 4 is a high quality Carbon filter (this is called a POST-filter because it filters after the membrane). The filtered water passes through the membrane and enters the storage tank. When you're ready for a taste, it will leave the storage tank and pass through this fourth stage on its way up to the faucet. The end result? Crystal clear, high quality, and great tasting water! In the Box: RO Pure Reverse Osmosis module (complete with filters)Parts Bag 1 3 Gallon Storage tank 1 Faucet bagInstructions (manual)

Are You Really Getting Pure Water? A Water Filtration System Guide

!±8± Are You Really Getting Pure Water? A Water Filtration System Guide

Buying a home water filtration system? "Beware."

That's according to the FTC and other consumer organizations.

You see, the recent increase in the demand for in home water filtration systems has brought new companies to the industry. While there are many reputable manufacturers, some are taking advantage of customers by using misleading advertising gimmicks and product names that insinuate that they "purify" water, when all they actually do is block some chlorine and odor.

It's easy to be sure that you are getting an effective water filtering system. All you have to do is ask for product performance data - it should be posted on the manufacturer's website.

The manufacture doesn't have a website? Buy a different product. There is no reason to accept unsubstantiated claims, and doing so could be hazardous to your health.

Reliable companies are happy to explain how their water filtration system works. They have put a lot of time, money, and effort into bringing the highest quality products to the home front.

Look for specifications about what chemicals they block and to what extent.

You may only care about getting the chlorine out of your water. But if you can remove other contaminants without paying a lot more, you would probably buy the better water filtration system, right? At least, as long as you knew about the difference up front.

On performance sheets you will see the names and abbreviations of different chemical compounds that have been found in tap water. You'll see that a high quality water filtration system will remove things like lead, cysts, THMs, VOCs, lindane, alachlor, atrazine, benzene, TCE and MTBE.

You will also see that while a system may cost less initially, replacement filters are expensive and have a short life span. This is referred to as "cost of use". Some systems cost less than 10 cents a day, while others cost more than 25 cents per day.

The more expensive units do not necessarily block more contaminants.

The FTC always advises customers to beware of advertising claims that are very nonspecific. Using the word "pure" in the product name of the water filter has become very popular. Don't be taken in by marketing and advertising tricks.

The best water filtration system - in terms of effectiveness and price - is manufactured by a company that has been in business for many years, and has continuously improved its filters. They are so honest that on their website, they advise that a home water filtration system is an absolute necessity and that any filter is better than no filter at all.

Whether you buy their product or a different one, they simply want you to know that it is important to your family's health to get something to filter your tap water.

The best water filtering system for your family will have a UL certification for chlorine removal. It will have a California Department of Health Certificate. That certificate sets the industry's standard for excellence.

Look for a quality water filtration system to improve your family's health... and maybe even their sense of well-being. Everyone deserves pure water.

Water Filtration System - The System You Need in Your House

!±8± Water Filtration System - The System You Need in Your House

If you have children or members of the family who have problems with their immune system, you need to get a water filtration system to ensure that they have access to clean water without bacteria and sediments. We all but the latest in computers and electronics for our household, but often times we do not think about the things we should be really focusing on like having clean and pure drinking water. Just because there are plants and places where tap water is supposed to be treated and purified it does not mean that we should not take extra measures. In fact research shows that chlorine, which is used as a treatment to kill some of the bacteria in the water, is harmful for the organism. But just because we do not always see what is in the water it does not mean the water is safe enough to drink. Furthermore even the bottled water might not be as pure as you think. It actually all depends on the filtering system the company uses, but government regulations are not too harsh.

The ultimate solution to be sure the water that is consumed in your household is clean and pure is to get a water filtration system. More and more water filtration technologies are being developed, but as usual there are always pros and cons to each of them. There are several ways to filter water and to remove dangerous thinks like bacteria, chemicals and even tiny materials that can get in the water because of the plumbing system. A simple test to see if your water is clean enough is to put water in a glass and leave it over night. If there are sediments deposited at the bottom of the glass the answer it obvious. Even if there are no sediments there are still chances that the water is not pure and safe enough to drink. Before the water filtration system became available people used to boil the water before using it. Nowadays purifying water is done through reverse osmosis, distillation, and filtration. Ultraviolet rays as well as carbon filters are also used to make water safer to drink.

To test the quality of your water you can get test kits which are widely available and easy to use. After you determine the level of pollution in your water and find out what kind of impurities are in the water you can make a more informed decision regarding the water filtration system you want in your house. This can be a filter system for one faucet only, for your drinking water, a shower filter to fill in your washing needs or a whole house water filter system so that you can have purified water all the time in the entire house. It is important to find out what kind of chemicals and impurities are in your water before you actually buy a system for water filtration. The reasoning behind is that not all the filters remove all the chemicals and impurities from water. For example not all the carbon based filters remove all the contaminants from the water. One of the most effective appears to be the solid block carbon filter which manages to eliminate chlorine and fluoride which are used to treat water, bacteria and other impurities which are not removed during the treatment process or the ones that are collected from the plumbing system. The multimedia filters are also great for removing a lot of impurities because they have several filers combined and at least one for them is a carbon filter. Whichever system you decide one water filtration is important for the health being of your family.
